V 12 is a bug fest!

I am having huge issues with v12.7.  v 12 that I paid for!

When printing labels and receipts, about 25% of the time it will cause an error or just shut the program down.  Not much fun with a customer at the counter.

Seems like it has many bugs compared to other versions.  Oh yeah, the best one was a label format issue that I had to have a guy help me with for $75 and THEN I figured it out after talking to him on the phone!

What's the deal guys?

If you have anti-virus or anti-spyware software running, I would suggest that you configure it to exclude the Atrex data directory as well as the Private folder underneath the Atrex product.  If there is something interfearing with the data access or the creation of temporary files (which Atrex does extensively when printing), it can appear as errors within Atrex itself.

I don't see any notes in your customer record that you have contacted us regarding these errors, so I don't have any more information to go on.  With regards to this, shoot an email to support@atrex.com the next time you get one of these messages with the exact error message and that should go a long way towards tracking down the potential cause of the issue.

Beyond that, we can get you a debug version that will send an error report directly to our server if we need more detailed information.

Any time we make changes to the package, there is the potential for issues to pop up and there were a lot of changes between v11 and v12.  But overall, the number of support calls that we are getting for v12 is significantly less than what we were getting from older versions.

I would assume that this was for assistance with a custom report?  Report modification or customization is not included within the standard support for the product and never has been.

The label was a standard label that I have been using for 2 years.  When Atrex 12 came out is was printing the opposite way on the page and messing up everything.  It was truncated and the orientation was wrong.  I didn't do anything but install v12.  You guys sent me to a third party instead of fixing it.  After hours on the phone I clicked an dynamic/static button box and it went back to the EXACT way it printed for 2 years!  Since then, I have had no issues with it.  It was not a "custom label" problem as you stated.  It was a glitch in Atrex 12!

I don't have time to play IT guy.  That is why I count on you to make a good product, which it is, overall.

Considering that you were most likely using a standard format designed for a
Dymo printer on your Zebra printer, it is quite possible that we made some
tweaks to the Dymo label fomats for vesion 12.  This could potentially cause
problems when using those templates on something other than the printer that
it was specifically designed for.  So yes, installing v12 could cause an
issue with the Zebra printer in this situation.

Is this a bug?  Not really.   But, I can definitely understand why you might think so from your side.

There must have been some other change made along the way, either in the
printer driver or the report template itself, as changing a section from
static height to dynamic height would not change the print orientation.
