Querying the database without using the ODBC driver?

We run ColdFusion here and get regular "unable to connect to the database" errors.  I was wondering if there are any other ways to query the database than through the ODBC driver as I would like to try and isolate the problem.

I know the database format is DBISAM, perhaps there is a way to set up Cold Fusion to access the data files directly?

Thanks.

Sebastian,

to set up Cold Fusion to access the data files directly?

The only other option that I know of is an ADO.Net provider by a third party company.  The link to it is  http://www.contextsoft.com/products/dbisamnet/ .

Other than it's existence, I don't know anything else about this product and I don't know if it will be any easier for you with CF.
