Service Order Lockouts & missing jobs
Problem #1

Intermittant problem resulting in a SO lockout for around 5-10 minutes.

1. Create new service job
Service > New > Search For Cust Name (not found) > Click New
   * Enter Lastname
   * Enter Firstname
   * Enter Zipcode (we have the US zipcode package installed for city/state)
   * Click Ok.

   (now in Service Order Creation/Editing, general tab)
   * Service Rep is defaulted to whichever employee is currently logged in
   * Manufacturer, model and serial number are all manually entered
   * Alternate ID (eg. FL #1226 AUTUMN TRANS)
   * Click Ok.

   (now in Service Order Creation/Editing, Jobs tab)
   * Click insert
   * Select a premade job template (we have many job templates pre-made complete with labor rate, labor hour, Indications/problem and work performed.
   * Click Ok, do not take deposit, print copy of service job.

2. Edit Service Job (this is where the problem manifests itself) Original computer terminal or other.
   * Service > Edit Open > Select job we just created
   * Under the jobs tab, edit one of the job templates
   * Technician initials are entered, this job is completed is checked, work performed is modifed/added to, labor rate may be modified.
   * Click ok, cancel stock code entry, click ok, click ok.  No deposit taken, click ok, select yes to reprint SO.
   * After clicking yes, atrex immediately shuts down.  When relaunched the SO cannot be edited and a message stating that the SO is currently locked by another user is displayed.  Atrex was shut down, rebooted computer, and problem remains. Attempted to edit SO at another terminal and received the same message. After a period of time (around 5-10 minutes) the service order is no longer locked and can be edited.

I checked the windows system log and at about the same time this happend an error was logged stating:
Event ID: 6004 A driver packet received from the I/O subsystem was invalid.

This problem has occured independently on at least two seperate terminals here, both of which operate Windows XP, one machine is XP pro, the other XP home. Atrex V12.08 (also happened w. V12.06) We are using client / server configuration.

Problem #2 (unknown if related to problem #1)

1. Start service order at computer #1.
2. Add job template & edit job info.
3. Save & print service order.
4. Open service order from computer #2 and the job template is not there.
5. From computer #2 add missing job template, edit & save.
6. Return to computer #1 and now has the original job template that was missing AND the 2nd added job plate.

I hope this is information has enough detail to duplicate the problem.

Do you happen to be running Symantec Endpoint Protection?
