Request for v.14 ;-)
I know that it is a ways down the road yet, but I would like to throw in my two cents for a request here guys.  The OSCommerce export is great however I am not that overly fond of OSC.  We use it only because it interacts well with Atrex.  We have used and prefer the X-Cart system and would like to someday see a import/export routine that can do the same for the X-Cart system as the current one can do with the OSC system.

Just a suggestion :)

Todd,

I'll add another tick next to this in the suggestion list.

One of the problems we ran into with X-Cart at the time we looked at it was that there was no way to completely automate the import/export process.  We could provide the import CSVs but in order to update the cart you still had to manually log into the cart admin and process the import.

The other issue that I remember was that it always pulled down every single order that was in the cart every time the order export ran.  This added a huge amount of overhead to both the transfer of the data down and in locating each order in the Atrex database to prevent duplicates.

Re: Request for v.14 ;-)
Thanks Terry.  As far as the bringing all orders back down into Atrex, could this be an issue that could be solved by us adjusting the order status during the import/export routine?  In other words when Atrex is performing an export to x-Cart the order status could be changed and then during import only orders that do not match a "New" status could be brought down?

Just a thought.

It doesn't appear that there are any options on the order export.  It appears to be a complete export of all orders from the system, so every time you do the order export from x-Cart it would include every order in the shopping cart.

If this would be something that could be seriously looked at in a future version we would be willing to work with the x-cart development team to develop some sort of a work around on this that would maybe be of benefit to other Atrex users.

Have you had others asking about this, enough to warrant the process anyway, or would we be one of just a couple?

And thanks for your responses and at least taking an interest for us :-)

Todd,

It's definitely a possibility that we would add support for am additional shopping cart or two, but so far there has not been any clear choices of which one to go with.  We have probably a good couple dozen requests for different shopping carts by different users, and I think only eBay and Yahoo stores are the only carts that have more than 1 request.

I believe you are the second.  I had looked into this about a year or so ago as a customer wanted us to do it as a custom import.  Once we found out that there was nothing automated, they dropped the request.

John,

Magento?

We have not had any requests for Magento as of yet.  Would you like me to add you as the first?

Re: Request for v.14 ;-)

You can add one more for yahoo store. I purchased Atrex when version 6 was new and have checked every year or so the past 10+ years I've been on the Yahoo store platform waiting for yahoo store support.
