Automatic Backup in 13.20
Hi,
I tried to install the Database Server so that I could use the automated backup function.  I have another program that automatically backs up the "backup" folder to the web.  My problem is I have a single license and it doesn't want to run in a client/server configuration on a single machine.  Any suggestions on how to make it work?

The automated backup job runs from the server and that is independent of your using a client/server connection to the data.  Once configured, the job will run with Atrex continuing to use a direct/network connection to the data.

Andrew,

One additional comment in addition to Mark’s response.  You MUST make sure that Atrex is closed when the scheduled backup is run.  Since database engine won’t allow for mixed access to the data, if Atrex is open when the backup is run, it will cause the backup to fail because of the different connection types.

I figured out the problem.  You can't back up to a path that includes an apostrophe in the path.  I was trying to back up to a folder that included "Andrew's" in the path.

My clue was the error message

Andrew,
I figured out the problem.  You can't back up to a path that includes an apostrophe in the path.  I was trying to back up to a folder that included "Andrew's" in the path.
Thank you for reporting this, I will have the developers address the issue.

Until this issue is addressed, if you want to use a path with an apostrophe, add a second one (i.e. Andrew''s) and you will be OK.
